10 Funny Excuses Better Than “The Check is in the Mail”

Oh the stories we hear, and the excuses we are given.

Yes, we have all heard the classic “the check is in the mail.” However, I have a few more unique excuses I have been given over the years. Check them out:

1) “The person that signs the checks is on vacation.”

2) “My bank won’t let me send a payment to you.”

3) “If I paid you, I would not be able to pay my other vendors.”

4) “Our terms begin from the date the invoice is received.”

5) “We do not send payments until our customers pay us.”

6) “Those invoices are from last year, and we have already closed our books.”

7) “We cannot make a payment until the product has been received into our system.”

8) “Your credit rating is too low for me to send a payment at this time.”

9) “We are in the middle of an audit, and our auditors will not allow us to make a payment until they are finished.”

10) “My bank is closed today, so I won’t be able to mail a check until tomorrow.”
